Freight Market Outlook Added to Reposition 2009

CITT is proud to announce that David Newman, (CMA, CFA) has been added to the list of “C” level executive speakers scheduled to present at Reposition 2009 in Niagara-on-the-Lake on Friday, Nov. 6th. Mr. Newman will be discussing freight transportation spending trends in Canada and the current state of the freight markets. The freight market outlook will be supported by key economic data and trends, as well as an overview of the current business cycle. He will also provide a brief economic outlook for the coming quarter.

Currently, Mr. Newman is the Senior Vice President, Equity Research Analyst, Transportation & Aerospace at National Bank Financial. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector, having spent more than 10 years as a Research Analyst. Prior to beginning his career at NBF in 2002, Mr. Newman was part of Merrill Lynch’s top-ranked Small Cap/Special Situations team.

Mr. Newman has covered a broad range of industries including airlines and aerospace, travel and tourism, container shipping, railroads and trucks, offshore helicopters, construction and heavy equipment dealers, business services, agribusiness, food processing, restaurants and breweries. He is well-recognized for providing high quality research and making timely, astute stock calls, having achieved “All-Star” rankings in three different sectors including Small Cap Companies / Special Situations (2003), Consumer Products (2005) and Transportation (2007, 2008).

Mr. Newman holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours (B.Comm.) degree from the University of Toronto. He is professionally designated as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is also the outgoing Honourary President of CITT.

Reposition 2009 will be held at the Queen’s Landing Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake from November 4 – 6.
