Mass Casualty Preparedness & Response Forum

From Homeland Defense Journal: “At the Mass Casualty Preparedness & Response Forum, all participants will engage together in addressing a capability-specific priority of the Goal to Strengthen Medical Surge and Mass Prophylaxis Capabilities. The Forum presents an opportunity for leaders, decision makers and planners of business, government and civil society (Non-profits, NGOs, etc.) to address complex issues surrounding mass casualty events and response, and create an ongoing dialogue of ideas that will evolve into solutions that can be applied in an all hazards environment. The complexities inherent in mass casualty preparedness and response are such that no one organization alone can address all facets of needs and actions—rather, this event will allow you to work closely with your colleagues across the community to identify those areas where alignment of priorities, actions and responsibilities best enables and integrates overall mass casualty capabilities.”

“Homeland Security Presidential Directive 8 (HSPD-8) initiated the development of the National Preparedness Goal for the purpose of establishing a unified, risk-based, national approach to prepare for major events. The vision of the Goal is “to engage Federal, State, local, and tribal entities, their private and non-governmental partners, and the general public to achieve and sustain risk-based target levels of capability to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from major events to minimize the impact on lives, property, and the economy.” Mass Casualty Preparedness & Response Forum
