Smart Software, Inc., provider of industry-leading demand forecasting, planning, and inventory optimization solutions, today (September 15th, 09) announced that SupplyChainBrain (formerly Global Logistics & Supply Chain Strategies) has chosen the company for its list of “100 Great Supply Chain Partners” for the fourth year in a row. Smart was nominated for this distinction by several of its customers in manufacturing, distribution, and service parts organizations that are using its flagship product, SmartForecasts® Enterprise, to solve their demand forecasting and inventory planning problems. The award focused on Smart Software’s strengths in helping its customers improve their efficiency and overall supply chain performance.
Smart Software was chosen from more than 500 vendors for the 2009 list of 100 Great Supply Chain Partners published in the July issue of SupplyChainBrain magazine. According to the magazine, “The purpose of this list is to recognize those vendors that have so impressed our readers that they deserve to be singled out and held up as examples for others in the industry.”
The “100 Great Supply Chain Partners” program is the result of a six-month on-line poll in which logistics and supply chain professionals nominated vendors and service providers “whose technology, logistics, transportation or consulting solutions have made a significant impact on their company’s efficiency, customer service and overall supply chain performance.” SupplyChainBrain received more than 2700 nominations from small and large companies covering scores of different industries around the world.
The magazine’s nominating process revealed those qualities that nominating companies most looked for in their vendors, and decisions were made on the “quality” of the nominations. This year, the following 10 qualities stood out: 1. Reliability, 2. Excellence, 3. Value and cost savings, 4. Expertise and knowledge base, 5. Problem-solving ability, 6. Continuous improvement, 7. Support, 8. Positive culture, 9. Global reach capabilities, and 10. Strong management.
“We are very grateful to the customers that nominated us again for this award. Each year the competition gets stiffer, and each year the quality of the nominations runs high,” said Charles Smart, president and CEO of Smart Software. “We will continue to be committed to providing excellent value for our customers that enables them to improve their demand and inventory planning, realize results that make a positive impact on their businesses, and deem us worthy for next year’s nomination.”
SupplyChainBrain covers leading edge strategies and real-world solutions for executives at the highest levels of supply chain management. It claims more than 200,000 projected readers worldwide.
